SYMPTOMS:
CAUSE/S:
P0087 – Fuel pressure regulator. Fuel pressure lower than the reference value.
Fault code recorded in the engine control unit.
Loss of power.
Noise coming from the high-pressure injection pump compartment at idle speed.
Engine warning light (MIL) ON.
NOTE: The symptoms are reproduced in cold environments.
NOTE: The noise in the high-pressure pump at idle when starting the engine is a normal condition with a new fuel filter.
Increased resistance of the fuel flow through the fuel filter.
Possible causes:
• Deterioration of fuel density due to low temperatures.
• Deterioration of the filter due to the use of low quality fuel. Adhesion of dust or dirt.
SOLUTION
Repair procedure:
• Confirm that the symptoms mentioned in the field symptoms of this bulletin are reproduced.
• Read the fault codes recorded in the engine control unit using the diagnostic tool.
• Confirm that the fault code mentioned in the field symptoms of this bulletin is recorded.
• Check if the vehicle is equipped with a fuel heater.
• Check if the vehicle is equipped with an already modified fuel heater. Check that the code on the filter body contains 6 digits. If it contains 5 digits, it is an unmodified fuel heater. See picture 1.
• Check if the vehicle is equipped with a modified fuel filter (See pictures 2 A, 2 B).
• Check if the vehicle is equipped with a urethane patch on the fuel filter.
• Replace the fuel filter assembly with a modified version according to the repair manual, if the vehicle is equipped with an unmodified glow plug.
• Install a urethane pad according to the repair manual.
• Replace the fuel filter with a modified version and install a urethane pad, according to the repair manual, if the vehicle is equipped with an unmodified fuel filter.
• Install a urethane pad to the fuel filter according to the repair manual, if necessary (See picture 2 C).

NOTA: Los síntomas son reproducibles en ambientes fríos.
NOTA: Los ruidos en la bomba de alta a ralentí al arrancar, es una condición normal tanto con filtro de combustible nuevo.
Aumento de la resistencia del paso de combustible por el filtro de combustible.
Posibles causas:
• Deterioro de la densidad del combustible por las bajas temperaturas.
• Deterioro del filtro por el uso de combustible de baja calidad. Adhesión de polvo o suciedad.
SOLUCIÓN
Procedimiento de reparación:
• Confirmar que se reproducen los síntomas mencionados en el campo síntoma de este boletín.
• Realizar lectura de códigos de avería registrados en la unidad de control motor con el útil de diagnosis.
• Confirmar que se registra el código de avería mencionado en el campo síntoma de este boletín.
• Comprobar si el vehículo está equipado con calentador de combustible.
• Comprobar si el vehículo está equipado con un calentador de combustible ya modificado. Consultar el código en el cuerpo del filtro contenga 6 dígitos. Si contiene 5 dígitos es un calentador no modificado (Ver imagen 1 F).
• Comprobar si el vehículo está equipado con un filtro de combustible modificado (Ver imagen 2 A, 2 B).
• Comprobar si el vehículo está equipado con un parche de uretano en el filtro de combustible.
• Sustituir el conjunto del filtro de combustible por una versión modificada según el manual de reparación, si el vehículo equipa un calentador no modificado.
• Montar una almohadilla de uretano según el manual de reparación.
• Sustituir el filtro de combustible por una versión modificada e instalar una almohadilla de uretano, según el manual de reparaciones, si el vehículo equipa un filtro de combustible no modificado.
• Instalar una almohadilla de uretano al filtro de combustible según el manual de reparación, si es preciso (Ver imagen 2 C).

Causas possíveis:
• Deterioração da densidade do combustível devido às baixas temperaturas.
• Deterioração do filtro devido à utilização de combustível de baixa qualidade. Aderência de pó ou sujidade.
SOLUÇÃO
Procedimento de reparação:
• Confirmar que os sintomas mencionados no campo de sintomas deste boletim são reproduzidos.
• Ler os códigos de avaria registados na unidade de controlo do motor com a ferramenta de diagnóstico.
• Confirmar que o código de avaria mencionado no campo de sintomas deste boletim está registado.
• Verificar se o veículo está equipado com um aquecedor de combustível.
• Verificar se o veículo está equipado com um aquecedor de combustível já modificado. Verificar se o código no corpo do filtro contém 6 dígitos. Se contiver 5 dígitos, trata-se de uma vela de incandescência não modificada (ver figura 1 F).
• Verificar se o veículo está equipado com um filtro de combustível modificado (ver figura 2 A, 2 B).
• Verificar se o veículo está equipado com um elemento de uretano para o filtro de combustível.
• Substituir o conjunto do filtro de combustível por uma versão modificada de acordo com o manual de reparação, se o veículo estiver equipado com uma vela de incandescência não modificada.
• Colocar uma almofada de uretano de acordo com o manual de reparação.
• Substituir o filtro de combustível por uma versão modificada e instalar uma almofada de uretano, de acordo com o manual de reparação, se o veículo estiver equipado com um filtro de combustível não modificado.
• Se necessário, instalar uma almofada de uretano no filtro de combustível, de acordo com o manual de reparação (ver figura 2 C).

Perte de puissance.
Bruit provenant du compartiment de la pompe à haute injection au régime de ralenti.
Le voyant d’anomalie du moteur (MIL) est allumé.
NOTE : les symptômes sont reproductibles dans les environnements froids.
NOTE : les bruits de la pompe de haut régime au démarrage sont normaux lorsque le filtre à carburant est neuf.
Résistance accrue du flux de carburant à travers le filtre à carburant.
Causes possibles :
• Détérioration de la densité du carburant en raison des basses températures.
• Détérioration du filtre due à l’utilisation d’un carburant de mauvaise qualité. Adhésion de la poussière ou de la saleté.
PROCÉDURE DE RÉPARATION
• Confirmer que les symptômes mentionnés dans le champ des symptômes de ce bulletin sont reproduits.
• Effectuer une lecture des codes d’erreur enregistrés dans l’unité de commande du moteur à l’aide de l’outil de diagnostic.
• Confirmer que le code d’erreur mentionné dans le champ des symptômes de ce bulletin est enregistré.
• Vérifier si le véhicule est équipé d’un réchauffeur de carburant.
• Vérifier si le véhicule est équipé d’un réchauffeur de carburant déjà modifié. Vérifier que le code sur le corps du filtre contient 6 chiffres. S’il contient 5 chiffres, il s’agit d’un réchauffeur non modifié (voir image 1).
• Vérifier si le véhicule est équipé d’un filtre à carburant modifié (voir image 2 A, 2 B).
• Vérifier si le véhicule est équipé avec un patch en uréthane pour le filtre à carburant.
• Remplacer le filtre à carburant par une version modifiée conformément au manuel de réparation, si le véhicule est équipé d’un réchauffeur non modifié.
• Installer un coussin d’uréthane conformément au manuel de réparation.
• Remplacer le filtre à carburant par une version modifiée et installer un coussin d’uréthane, conformément au manuel de réparation, si le véhicule est équipé d’un filtre à carburant non modifié.

P0087 – Brandstofdrukregelaar. Druk lager dan ingesteld.
Foutcode geregistreerd in het motorbesturingsapparaat.
Verlies van vermogen.
Geluid uit de hoge injectiepompruimte bij stationair toerental.
Motorstoringslampje (MIL) brandt.
OPMERKING: De symptomen zijn reproduceerbaar in koude omgevingen.
OPMERKING: Geluiden in de hoog stationaire pomp bij het starten is een normale toestand bij een nieuw brandstoffilter.
Verhoogde weerstand van de brandstofstroom door het brandstoffilter.
Mogelijke oorzaken:
• Verslechtering van de brandstofdichtheid door lage temperaturen.
• Verslechtering van het filter door het gebruik van brandstof van lage kwaliteit. Aanhechting van stof of vuil.
PROCEDURE VOOR REPARATIE
Reparatie procedure:
• Controleer of de symptomen die in het symptomenveld van dit bulletin worden genoemd, worden gereproduceerd.
• Lees met het diagnosegereedschap de foutcodes uit die in het motorbesturingsapparaat zijn opgeslagen.
• Controleer of de in het symptoomveld van dit bulletin genoemde foutcode is geregistreerd.
• Controleer of het voertuig is uitgerust met een brandstofverwarming.
• Controleer of het voertuig is uitgerust met een reeds aangepaste brandstofverwarming. Controleer of de code op het filterhuis 6 cijfers bevat. Als deze 5 cijfers bevat, is het een ongewijzigde brandstofverwarming. Zie afbeelding 1.
• Controleer of het voertuig is uitgerust met een aangepast brandstoffilter (zie afbeelding 2 A, 2 B).
• Controleer of het voertuig is uitgerust met een urethaan brandstoffilterpleister.
• Vervang het brandstoffilter door een gewijzigde versie volgens het reparatiehandboek, als het voertuig is uitgerust met een niet-gemodificeerde gloeibougie.
• Breng een urethaan pad aan in overeenstemming met de reparatiehandleiding.
• Vervang het brandstoffilter door een aangepaste versie en installeer een urethaanpad volgens de reparatiehandleiding als het voertuig is uitgerust met een ongewijzigd brandstoffilter.
• Installeer indien nodig een urethaanpad op het brandstoffilter volgens het reparatiehandboek (Zie foto 2 C).
