Achieve an optimal level of productivity in the workshop
If your workshops manage to reach an optimal level of productivity, we all come out on top.
Of course, if we support the workshop, if we help it improve its productivity, both vehicle owners and other stakeholders in the industry benefit: more quality and efficient repairs and maintenance, more consumables, more spare parts, more distribution, more manufacturing and so on.
By supporting workshop professionals and their businesses, we take care of the industry and ensure the mobility of all of us.
Workshop Productivity
When we talk about the concept of productivity in the workshop, we immediately associate it with billing, overlooking the key factor. And what is it? The most important thing in a company to achieve maximum profitability is the human team, the people.
No company can reach its goals without a certain level of commitment and effort from its workers, especially in the automotive sector, where competitiveness increases every day.
For this reason, it is necessary for workshops to learn to manage their teams optimally so as to provide high-quality and efficient repairs and maintenance in terms of performance.
Relationship between Motivation and Performance
Team motivation is a fundamental element for any workshop to achieve success and greater productivity. To a large extent, the attainment of short and long-term goals depends on it.
In other words, performance depends more on motivation and attitude than on the aptitude of workers in the vast majority of cases.
The link between motivation and performance is not something so simple and direct. However, we all know that the more motivated a worker is, the higher the performance of their tasks.
Work Environment
Personal variables such as capacity, ability and knowledge, as well as the work environment, having the right resources and the effort exerted, which is the result of motivation, also have a significant influence on worker’s performance.
It is obvious that the organisational environment affects people’s motivation and vice versa. When a pleasant work environment and relationships of mutual collaboration and support are established, both among the staff and between them and their superiors, the degree of motivation for all involved significantly increases.
Similarly, when there is a high level of motivation, a good work environment and relationships of mutual collaboration and support are naturally established.
If motivation is lacking, cases of depression, apathy, disinterest, dissatisfaction, conflicts, stress, etc. can arise. We all know what these situations entail at the personal, team and company levels.
Everything is interconnected
Undoubtedly, the perception of good performance and satisfactory results increases worker motivation.
At the same time, motivation is a driving force of productivity that allows for high performance and the achievement of initially set goals.
In other words, motivation affects performance, performance affects results and both impact satisfaction and the work environment, which in turn affects motivation, enhancing it.
Theory is all well and good, but… How do we put it into practice? Where do we start from? What should we do? What should we consider? How can we motivate our teams? What actions enable us to achieve optimal productivity in the workshop?
